Useful Information

We see our links with parents and the community as a vital part of our academy life. We all have a shared interest in educating and bringing up our children in the best way we can, so we work in partnership with parents and the wider community to help our children become responsible adults, able to make a positive contribution to society.

The academy plays a important part in keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse. Creating a safe learning environment, identifying pupils who are suffering or at risk of harm and then taking appropriate action, are vital to ensuring children are safe at home and at school.

We aim to involve parents in their child’s education, so that they are aware of their

rights and undertake their responsibilities.

We want to make the academy a welcoming and accessible place and to make it an important part of family life, so we encourage parents and other members of the community to visit the school, help in the classroom or with extra-curricular activities and lend a hand or just enjoy our fundraising and social events.

We try to keep parents well informed about all aspects of academy life, through various types of communication, both formal and informal, including; annual pupil reports, newsletters, parent consultations, curriculum discussion evenings and text messaging.

Any parent wishing to see the Headteacher is welcome to telephone to make an

We hold Open Evenings in the Autumn and Spring , when the staff are available to discuss your child's progress and share with you their targets for the term, in a private interview. During the Summer we have an Open Day when parents are invited to look round the school.

Additionally, at the end of every Summer Term, parents receive a written report covering their child's academic progress and social and emotional development. Parents of Year 6 children also receive their SATS results.

If parents need to discuss a particular concern at any other time, they can make an appointment with the class teacher, Deputy Head or Headteacher.

Parents are encouraged to take a more active role in academy life by becoming Governors. Elections are held on a regular basis. Further information on this is available from the school.
